Desmond is a Government Affairs professional with a versed background in a wide range of public policy issues, an insider’s perspective of the legislative process, and contacts throughout Ohio’s Capital Square. Through his experience working at the state and federal levels of government, he possesses a wealth of knowledge in advocacy training, grassroots campaigns, educating public officials on policy initiatives, and navigating through the state legislature.
An alumnus of the Ohio General Assembly, Desmond served as a senior legislative staffer in both the House and Senate, where he was charged with providing insight and direction on the development of policy positions and legislative initiatives, monitoring legislative activity on the House and Senate floor, and managing long and short term legislative planning.
Prior to joining Thomas Ingram, he implemented and executed a federal lobbying agenda for the Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA). There, he operated and coordinated every aspect of the organization’s federal advocacy and lobbying efforts.
Desmond leads the government affairs efforts for Thomas Ingram Law Group and maintains valuable relationships on both sides of the aisle. His ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, strong work ethic, and energy has added measurable value to the firm.
